This was a fabulous team effort on the American Odyssey Relay with the incredible warmth of American spirit that Alan found when running the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC October 2013 – the photos say it all and many more can be seen at https://www.facebook.com/pg/TheBaton/photos/?tab=album&album_id=904064349609234

The obvious spirit with which this team showed during the challenge is just truly inspiring, Ryan Walsh of Team RWB said…

“the team ended up consisting of members of the Active Duty, National Guard and the Reserves from multiple branches of service. About half the team was civilian supporters of the military and veterans. One of the things that has impressed me the most with Team RWB has been its level of inclusiveness and the bridge it provides between the military and civilian populations. I think it was the perfect audience to carry the Baton and what it stands for.” “The run went superbly well!

Everyone was very motivated about carrying the Baton and we were able to share the story throughout the race with everyone on the course. We completed the 200 mile run in 30:35:05”

The run starting from Gettysburg where President Lincoln made his short address is quite apt when you look at the text itself Sincere thanks to our special friends, the Allied Forces Foundation, for hosting and co-ordinating the USA Baton’s travels and to Team RWB for the photos and keeping the Message alive!
