The Ride Of Respect is legendary, the bikers have raised tens of thousands of pounds through this event – many charities have benefitted by their generosity, this year the Baton was one of them.

Amanda Wood-woolley is a lovely lady who coordinates so much of what the AFB do, in the process putting in a tremendous amount of effort to ensure all runs well, on this occasion being the ARB liaison to the Official Ride of Respect

The ride, with over 400 bikers, started at Calne and ended at the Carterton Sports Hall close by where the Repatriation Garden of Memorial is situated, Leo ” Hat trick ” Palmer carried the Baton and its Message of Conscience for the ride.

Alan drove up to be with Amanda, to see the riders in and to chat with some of them about the cause, he also had the pleasure of meeting ‘Raven and Midnight’ two absolutely beautiful Russian Terriers that work with the Wiltshire Search and Rescue

Alan said it was great to see Sandie Dulieu and friend who he met at TANKFEST also Stephen Mulvaney a former A&E nurse who understandably felt an affinity with the stretcher handle.

As always the Baton’s Message of Conscience was handed out reminding society that freedom has never been free and never will be and as the Message says “be loyal to those who loyally serve and their families”
