We learned yesterday of a wonderful donation of £4,500 from this years Official Ride of Respect towards the Baton’s cause, put forward by our lovely friend and very much Baton Family Amanda Wood-woolley The Ride Of Respect and Armed Forces Biker’s efforts are legendary, they have raised £1,000’s for good causes taking nothing for themselves – all sharing the same ethos. We are so grateful for this donation that will enable us to continue the often discreet emergency welfare support for those in real need.
The Baton ‘Family’ as we call ourselves are all volunteers, some have trades and offer services free of charge to help those in need. Amongst the obvious pleasing physical results a most gratifying aspect is the restoration of belief in humanity, some of the cases we deal with have slipped through the major charitable support network, seemingly forgotten – to our mind humanity is paramount and we will always endeavour to be there for them.
