Somerset Army Cadet Force Nijmegen March 2011

In Taunton on the 15th July  CSjt Lancey of the Somerset Army Cadet Force received the Baton from Judy and Nick Gaden on behalf of the Cadets to carry during their 120th effort.  Judy and Nicks son Tom was sadly killed in action in Afghanistan 2009 Tom was a very much liked and active member of the SACF. For more information on this cracking effort by the SACF please click here.


This will be the first time the Baton has been carried on the Nijmegen March, such a well known test of endurance with major historical importance.  The Army Cadet Force is a National Voluntary Youth Organisation.  It is sponsored by the Army and provides challenging military, adventurous, and community activities.  Its aim is to inspire young people to achieve success in life with a spirit of service to the Queen, their country and their local community, and to develop in them the qualities of a good citizen.
