The Baton’s Journey

From Helmand to Honiton

As soon as I’d mentioned my ideas, help and encouragement were there straight away with genuine and constructive enthusiasm, many permutations were considered as to what the Baton should be made of until finally I settled on the stretcher. My good friends in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines were especially helpful, as they were instrumental in acquiring the stretcher and getting it back to the UK, also for offering invaluable input with the Message… Bravo Zulu to all.

Honiton is a special market town with a great heart and I’m proud to say that everything has been achieved by truly local help, in fact the only cost incurred to the launch has been fuel to pick things up, the rest has been donated with incredible spirit, my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all.
