The American Baton started its journey in 2013 to promote more understanding of US forces and families issues when Alan joined the Allied Forces Foundation Marine Corps Marathon team, running with the now AFF President and Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Taylor. The AFF hosted many nationalities including the UK’s service personnel some of them showing the physical and mental effects of battle, the hospitality was exceptional with visits to the Pentagon and Senate as well as others arranged http://alliedforcesfoundation.org
Alan ran with a waist pack with Baton Messages for them to hand out to the crowds explaining the Baton from a stretcher that would of carried American forces at the same asking them to remember their forces and families
