Helmand to Honiton

As soon as I’d mentioned my ideas, help and encouragement were there straight away with genuine and constructive enthusiasm, many permutations were considered as to what the Baton should be made of until finally I settled on the stretcher.

My good friends in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines were especially helpful, as they were instrumental in acquiring the stretcher and getting it back to the UK, also for offering invaluable input with the Message… Bravo Zulu to all.

Honiton, in Devon is a special market town with a great heart and I’m proud to say that everything to start the Baton was achieved by truly local help, various super people who share the desire to support our forces, their families and friends immediately came forward with incredible spirit – the Baton Family was born!
